Little Fishes Fundraising

Fundraising

Fundraising is vital for Little Fishes Pre-school, as a charity we need to raise extra income in order to remain open

The funding we receive from our local borough and fees alone is not enough to cover our direct costs e.g. rent, wages and resources. We do not want to charge our parents extras or limit the number of hours per day you can access your free funding like some other nurseries do. This is what makes Little Fishes special. We therefore need to fundraise to make up the short fall.

Everyone is encouraged to take part in fundraising. We ask that all parents get involved by attending the events that are held and helping to organise events and activities during the year.

How do we fundraise?

We have fun!

Our main events are the two fairs held in Summer and at Christmas. These bring the whole community together, families, grandparents and friends all get involved and they are our yearly highlights. Local businesses donate some fantastic prizes for which we are very grateful and there are lots of stalls, fun activities, BBQ and refreshments. In the past we have had our own music festival – Fish stock! including a programme of live music!

How can I help?

Man a stall, you could man one as a family, get the grandparents involved or you may have an idea for a new stall!

Donate any unwanted but new gifts to our raffle or silent auction.

Maybe the company you work for could donate a prize or may even be able to match fund your fundraising efforts.

Bake cakes, buy raffle tickets and come and have fun on the day!

At other times of the year you could;

  • Shop using Easyfundraising or Amazon Smile
  • Donate items such as boxes of tissues, hand soap, food for snack time etc
  • Donate items to Bags2school
  • Complete a Gift Aid form so we can claim 25p for every £1 you donate. For details see below
  • By giving up some time to do an activity with the children i.e. cooking, reading or gardening
  • By doing a sponsored event such as running a half marathon or swimming a distance

We appreciate that we ask a lot of our parents with regards to fundraising, but Little Fishes is very special as you will see, and we want your child to have the best start in their education. Let’s see what we can achieve together.

Gift Aid increases the value of your donations and means charities can benefit even more at no extra cost to you.

If you’re a UK taxpayer, add Gift Aid whenever you make a donation and Little Fishes can reclaim the basic rate of tax on your gift – that’s a whopping 25p for every £1 you give. Higher rate tax payers can claim additional tax benefits for donations they make to charity, which you can keep or pass on to any charitable organisation. Simply indicate how much you have donated when completing your tax self-assessment form.

Please support Little Fishes by completing the gift aid form and returning it our Business Manager.
